Global disasters have always kept human minds agitated with the questions WHEN and WHERE? Disregarding conspiratorial theories, according to which weapons causing global climatic changes and earthquakes have been in use, the question of whether global disasters can be predicated remains open. Scientists have been working on about a hundred symptoms for prediction of earthquakes, one of them being animals’ behaviour. According to most scientists, there is no method of predicting earthquakes. However, Professor Alexander Melik-Yolchyan, who has dedicated more than twenty years on this subject, has indicated dates of impending earthquakes in 2011. See the map.

Even if this forecast appears to be untrue, scientists’ efforts in this area will still be measured as titanic and will continue. Even the most unlikely suggestion should not be ignored. There are several mathematical models /developed by a group of young scientists/, and according to one of them the notorious date of 21 December 2012 does not fall into a time period of disasters. Still, based again on that model, this cannot be said about the months to come by the end of 2010, i.e. it is likely that an earthquake period /both in literal and figurative sense/ is in store. Such models are purely mathematical, and if any of them works out, it would be of use to seismologists.
